Dengue hemorrhagic fever & H1N1

Dr Dr Nguyen Van Kinh, Director of Institute of infectious diseases and Tropical Country said, this is the first two cases in Vietnam is recognized as the two patients with acute infection (H1N1 pandemic influenza and hemorrhagic fever – a clear manifestation of bleeding). After treatment the health of both the stable. The world also had at least seven cases of the two types of this disease.

“Patients infected with two types of service will be very vulnerable to severe complications, high mortality risk. So while people have expressed a fever should seek medical care immediately to detect the disease early,” Dr Dear said.

Also according to him, since last October, the number of patients with dengue fever tends to decrease markedly. There are between 50 and 60 people hospitalized, down nearly half compared to the October. However, many cases appear serious complications.

MADRID, 8 Dec. (EUROPA PRESS) – researchers at the University of California at Berkeley (United States) could have identified one of the key cell mutations that allowed the H1N1 flu virus to jump from animals to humans. The results of the study are published in the journal ‘Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences’ (U.S.A.).
Scientists, led by Andrew Mehle and Jennifer Doudna, explain the flu, consisting of viral proteins PB1, PB2 and PA, virus polymerase helps determine ease of viruses to infect organisms.
In particular, a mutation in PB2, which puts the amino acid lysine where usually reside glutamate, often necessary for avian influenza viruses and pigs infect humans. But the H1N1 does not have this mutation.
The researchers discovered a different mutation in the H1N1 containing serine and arginine PB2 subunit. This mutation, called polymorphism SR, increases the activity of viral polymerase and viral replication in human cells, even when added to the flu virus human cells that block.
The authors suggest that these adjustments could help explain how the H1N1 virus passed to humans and could indicate that the H1N1 virus is able to develop additional mutations that could improve its ability to replicate in humans.

Ron Paul on H1N1

In his latest C4L update, Ron Paul discusses the H1 N1 “emergency,” health freedom, and Obama’s interesting decision.

A sample from a Utah swine flu patient has been analyzed, and shows the same H1N1 mutation found in Ukraine and other locations around the world. This mutation of the pandemic A H1N1 swine flu virus, the receptor binding domain change of D225G, is associated with lung hemorrhaging and resistance to the swine flu vaccine.

Unplugged: H1N1 Cases Overestimated?

In a months long CBS News investigation, state-by-state results of tests for H1N1 found that most cases were negative. The Wall Street Journal’s Alicia Mundy and Politico’s Fred Barbash spoke with Sharyl Attkisson about these startling findings.
