Depends on what the word “life” means…

A Wrexham man has been jailed for life, with a minimum of 22 years, after being convicted of murdering his partner in a “sustained and violent attack”.

via BBC News – Wrexham man jailed for life for murdering partner, 25.

If we are still wondering what the meaning of “is” is (and really, you should) then you can understand the Brits’ confusion over a word with twice as many letters.

BP Starts Cementing Gulf Oil Well.

BP started pumping cement Thursday into its blown-out Gulf of Mexico well as it advanced with moves to permanently kill the source of the world’s worst marine oil spill.

The deal marks the beginning of the end of the Internet as you know it. Since its beginnings, the Net was a level playing field that allowed all content to move at the same speed, whether it’s ABC News or your uncle’s video blog. That’s all about to change, and the result couldn’t be more bleak for the future of the Internet, for television, radio and independent voices.

via Josh Silver: Google-Verizon Deal: The End of The Internet as We Know It.

The alternative to this “beginning of the end” scenario is the much ballyhooed “Net Neutrality”  crap from the FCC where-in the Government gets to pick the speeds.

Look at it this way. Before you is two piles of crap. Which one do you like the best?

Huffington, as usual, likes the one on the left.

This bill is being “sold” as giving the unemployed a better opportunity to find work via some employer tax benefit.

Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) introduced a bill Wednesday that would provide extra weeks of benefits to people who’ve reached the end of their unemployment insurance lifelines. The measure would provide 20 extra weeks of unemployment benefits and extend a tax credit for businesses that hire workers who’ve been unemployed for 60 days or longer

Be careful about shipping K2 herbal incense

With such a wide variety of laws and ordinances covering K2, it can be very easy to break a BIG one…

… Further investigation revealed approximately 120 packets of “K2″ that were marked for shipment to an address in Missouri. Officers were able to track down the owner of the package and issue a citation for distribution of K2.

While it is still possible to purchase K2 in parts of Texas, it has been banned in Allen. In the state of Missouri, this quantity of K2 would have been a felony distribution.

Defense contractors disclosed some of the biggest gifts. One of the top honorees was Rep. Ike Skelton (D-Mo.), chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, who was a guest at an April gala for the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, a nonprofit group that provides counseling to friends and family who have lost loved ones in the military. BAE Systems donated $150,000 to the event, and defense contractor Science Applications International Corporation donated $100,000, according to disclosure forms. General Motors also gave $5,000 to honor Skelton.

I’m not saying anything.

I don’t have too..

Remember, it takes a lot of money to represent the people so they HAVE to take the money…(they could change that if they wanted)

“That’s the straw that broke the camel’s back,” Rogers, who has been warning about shortages coming in the agriculture sector for a while, said in a telephone interview.”We’re going to have much, much higher prices over the next few years,” Rogers, a hedge-fund pioneer who started the Quantum Fund with George Soros in the 1970s, added.

Well, if the people don’t have the money to pay for it, it doesn’t matter what you charge.

The other way to play this is – GROW SOME FOOD YOURSELF. THEY’RE CALLED SEEDS. YOU PUT THEM IN THE GROUND…

Geithner should shut the fuck up

The Bush administration’s “misguided” policies are to blame for huge U.S. budget deficits, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner charged on Wednesday as he sought to build an election-year case for ending tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.

via Geithner blasts Bush policies for debt – Yahoo! News.

And bailing out AIG wasn’t misguided? Sucking Goldman Sachs dick wasn’t misguided?

You’re a lying asshole Geithner and anyone who takes you seriously is retarded.

TWO MISGUIDED WARS COULD BE TO BLAME DON’T YOU THINK TIMMY? PONZI BANKING MIGHT ALSO HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT. YOU RAN THE NY FED WHEN ALL THIS BLEW UP, WHAT DO YOU THINK TIMMY WAS IT ALL THE BUSH TAX CUTS? REALLY?

What a pantie waste.

You personally are probably more responsible for the “wealth gap” that now exists in America today than anyone, asshole.

So understand the implications: the parties to securitization have so screwed up the procedures that they set up that it is pretty much impossible to foreclose (in the 45 of 50 states where the note is the critical element of the transaction) unless they forge documents. That’s fraud, pure and simple. And Freddie and Fannie continue to enable it.

We’re a “nation of laws” my ass. We’re a nation of bull shit and money lust.
