Federal health officials said Wednesday there has been a ?worrisome? spike in serious cases of pneumonia around the country associated with the H1N1 flu.

And most of those cases were among adults 20 to 59, unlike seasonal flu when pneumonia typically strikes those 65 and older, said Dr. Anne Schuchat of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Two-thirds of those who developed pneumonia had another health problem, like diabetes, asthma or heart disease, she said, noting people in those groups should be vaccinated against pneumonia.
